CHESAPEAKE - Margery Elizabeth Gibson Occhionero, 64, of Briarwood Meadows, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Occhionero was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Nellie Elizabeth Gibson. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Marianne Gibson. She was a graduate of Lakeland Community College, Mentor, Ohio, and also attended Flora Stone Mather College of Case-Western Reserve University, Cleveland. Mrs. Occhionero was a retired registered nurse with licensure in Ohio and Virginia. She retired in 1994 as an agent and registered representative with the Prudential Insurance Company of America. She was founder of the Parents' League for Emotional Adjustment, a non-profit organization seeking to find resources for emotionally disturbed children. Mrs. Occhionero was a former resident of Mentor and had moved to Chesapeake in 1994.
Survivors include her husband, Nicholas Occhionero; her daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Dawson of Chesapeake; her two sons, Rev. Charles R. Jones and David B. Jones; her stepdaughter, Annamarie Faulkner; her four stepsons, Raymond, Thomas, Robert, and John Occhionero; her five grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew Dawson, Jonathan, Jennifer, and Brian Jones; and her nine stepgrandchildren, Nikki, Jamie, Ray, and Curtis Occhionero, Zachary, Caleb, Bernadette, Joshua, and Tiffany Faulkner.
Into our Father's care we let you go with all of our love. We will be together again. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 1995, at Mentor Baptist Church, Mentor. Interment will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Portsmouth-Chesapeake Unit, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk Va. 23513, or the American Lung Association.
