JAMES L. FLOYD JR.

James Lafayette Floyd Jr., 67, of the 3800 block of Pughsville Road, died Nov. 9, 1995, in his residence.

He was a native of Rocky Mount, N.C., and was a retired pipefitter for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was also a retired HT 1 in the U.S. Navy after 20 years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Fleet Reserve Association, V.F.W., and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia T. Floyd; daughter, Lynette Marie Kypros of Norfolk; four sons, Darryl A. Floyd of Suffolk, Brian P. Floyd of Newport, N.C., Lauren J. Floyd of Chesapeake, Corey A. Floyd of Portsmouth; sister, Lucille Gray of Rocky Mount; three brothers, W. R. Floyd of Chesapeake, Ralph Floyd of Norfolk, Richard S. Floyd of Florence, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with military honors by Chaplain Beverly Roddy. The family will receive friends at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
