Garland M. Foreman, died Nov. 7, 1995, after a long battle with cancer in a local hospital.
He was born March 28, 1921, in Hertford, N.C., and was a retired professional truck driver.
Left to mourn is a devoted long-time companion, Mary Howard; sister, Mrs. Clementine Wilson of Portsmouth; three sons, Garland N. Foreman Jr. of Newport News, Marvin A. Foreman of Norfolk and James E. Foreman of Germany; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nieces; two nephews; one cousin; and a host of other family members and friends.
The wake service will be held at Fitchett Funeral Home, Sunday, between 7 and 8 p.m. in Chesapeake. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at New Rising Sun Baptist Church in Norfolk, by the Rev. Z. Pippins.
