Crestar Financial Corp. said its purchase of six branches of the Chase Manhattan Bank of Maryland will be complete on Friday. The acquisition brings $450 million in deposits, $260 million in loans and about 18,000 customer households to the Richmond-based bank. Branches in Baltimore, Pikesville, Md., Rockville, Md., and Timonium, Md., will open Friday as Crestar branches. The bank will close branches in Annapolis, Md., and Bethesda, Md. Customers at the closed locations will be able to use nearby Crestar branches. Crestar has 335 branches in Virginia, Maryland and Washington. The bank has $14.7 billion in assets. (AP) by CNB
