A man wanted in connection with the Aug. 19 murder of a man who was shot as he attempted to drive away from his assailants surrendered to police Wednesday night.
Deangelo Edmonds of the 600 block of Grayson St. turned himself in and was charged with murder.
Calvin Butler, 41, of the 6100 block of Witham St. in Virginia Beach, was sitting in his car in the 700 block of Lancaster St. when two men came up and tried to rob him.
Butler hit the gas, but the men opened fire as he drove away and one of the bullets struck him. He died the next day.
