ETHEL L. DIXON

Ethel Lorraine Dixon, 92, died Nov. 9, 1995.

A native of Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Altheous Lafayette and Mary Pruden Beale. She was the widow of Walter Samuel Dixon. Mrs. Dixon was a member of Oakland Christian Church, the Johnson-Newman Sunday school class and the Fellowship Club of Crittenden and Eclipse.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Dixon of Suffolk and Russell Dixon of Grandy, N.C.; two sisters, Virginia Marsh of Suffolk and Ercile Haughwout of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-granddaughter; and a great-great-granddaughter.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Oakland Christian Church by the Rev. Mark R. Burns and the Rev. Riddick Pierce. Burial will be in Newman Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, and other times at 1377 Wilroy Road. Memorial donations may be made to the Newman Memorial Cemetery, c/o Oakland Christian Church, 5641 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, Va. 23432.
