Katie E. Sheppard Etheridge, 76, of the 1200 block of Yeadon Road, died Nov. 8, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Etheridge, the widow of Herbert V. Etheridge, was a native of Bath, N.C. She was a member of Level Green Baptist Church and Niners Senior Citizens Club in Chesapeake. She attended ceramic classes at Chesapeake Parks and Recreation Department.
Survivors include two daughters, Pearl Weston and Donna Cohen, both of Chesapeake; four sons, Floyd Etheridge, Walt Etheridge and Shel Etheridge, all of Chesapeake, Wayne Etheridge of Norfolk; two sisters, Ruby Jones and Polly Gay, both of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Maynard Shepherd of Washington, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Tuten.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Bill Ralph. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the residence.
