GRACE R. BROTHERS

Grace Rose Brothers, 87, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1995, at the Southminster Retirement Community.

Mrs. Brothers was born May 27, 1908, in Carrsville, Va., the daughter of the late Junius Edward Rose and Josephine Elizabeth Butler Rose. She was a graduate of Longwood College in Farmville, Va., and also had attended the Virginia Polytechnical Institute in Blacksburg, Va. She retired in 1973 as an extension home agent with the Virginia Department of Agriculture, Culpeper County office, after more than 15 years. She was a member of the Culpeper Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Brothers was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 28 years, Mr. Charles Riddick Brothers Jr., in 1958. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Suzanne Brothers Petzold and Richard A. Petzold of Charlotte; three grandsons, Bryan Lee Petzold of Dallas, N.C., Charles Bruce Petzold of Charlotte and Blair Alvin Petzold of Virginia Beach; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Bryan Petzold of Dallas, N.C. and Miss Elizabeth Anne Petzold of Virginia Beach.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Brothers to the Southminster Endowment Fund, 8919 Park Road, Charlotte, N.C. 28210. McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel, Charlotte, is serving the family of Mrs. Brothers. A private family committal service will be held at a later date at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suffolk.
