Greater Vision will perform in concert at Southside Baptist Church at 7 p.m. today. This powerful gospel music group brings together Gerald Wolfe, Chris Allman and Rodney Griffin - three of the gospel music industry's big-name talents.
Wolfe, former member of the Cathedrals, serves as the lead singer and emcee for the group. He was awarded ``Favorite Young Artist'' at the annual Singing News Fan Awards. Allman sings tenor and brings to the group a heritage rich in the gospel music ministry. And baritone singer Griffin, involved for years in full time music ministry, most recently performed with the Dixie Melody Boys.
Greater Vision originates from Morristown, Tenn., and has enjoyed much success since its inception in December 1990. ``On A Journey,'' the group's first recording, produced many favorites that gained extensive airplay across the country. Two of the songs from this album reached the nation's Top Five, with the title song reaching number one.
The group's second album, titled ``It's Just Like Heaven,'' was released by Riversong/Benson. Once again, this dynamic trio produced two more chart-toppers. ``There Is A River'' and ``He Is Mine'' both reached the nation's Top Ten list. Their current album also is receiving rave reviews across the nation.
Greater Vision's ministry schedule takes them to more than 190 different concert locations throughout the year. Their schedule also includes several Christian cruises and trips with In Touch Ministries. Their travels also take them to concert locations in Canada and abroad.
