City Councilman Dalton S. Edge insisted after the results of Tuesday's election that his defeat at the polls had nothing to do with his part in the brutal heave-ho of City Manager James W. Rein or with his instigation of the water rebate debacle.
He and is supporters prefer to blame the loss on the independent bid by William H. Pierce, who they called a ``spoiler,'' or on other factors beyond their control.
Had he won, no doubt Mr. Edge would have seen the victory as a great vindication of his actions regarding Mr. Rein and the water rebate, but never mind.
Mr. Edge declared after the secret plot to fire Mr. Rein was played out that those in the majority have no obligation to keep those in the minority informed of what they're up to. Fine. Let's not tell him what really happened Tuesday. by CNB
