Helen Morris Parker, of the 2800 block of Harrell Ave., went to heaven to be with our Lord on Nov. 10, 1995 from DePaul Medical Center.
She was a native of Norfolk County and was the widow of Edward James Parker. She was a member of Good News Family Worship Center and was a homemaker.
Survivors include four daughters, Helen P. Willis, Ruth P. Roberts, Bertha P. Jones, and Louis P. Hilliard; six sons, William Lee Parker of Virginia Beach, Robert Lee Parker of Norfolk, John Edward Parker of Highland, N.Y., Edward James Parker Jr. and John Thomas Parker of Portsmouth, Dr. Floyd Lee Parker of Norfolk; one sister, Bernice Lassiter of Norfolk; one brother, Andrew Askew of Norfolk; an aunt, Lee Ethel Anderson of Norfolk; 38 grandchidlren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a son, James Edward Parker.
The funeral will be condcuted at 1 p.m. Monday in Oakwood Chapel Disciples Church, 982 Ave. E, by the Rev. Levi Willis Jr. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden. The family will receive relatives and friends at 2821 Harrell Ave. and will assemble there at 12:15 p.m. for the procession to the church. Visitation will be at E.A. Hughes Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
