Phyllis Parmelee Whitlock, 74, died in Albemarle Hospital on Nov. 10, 1995, after a short illness.
She was a member of Duck Woods Country Club and the Duck Woods Ladies Golf Assoc. For several years she taught swimming and water safety at the club and was an active volunteer in community work.
Survivors include her husband, Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. John Whitlock; sons, Drake of Asheville, N.C., Dean of Thetford Center, Vt.; two grandsons; and sisters, Betty Aaronson and Dorothy Hart of Coral Gables, Fla., Amy Mueller of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and a brother, Dr. Dean Parmelee of Richmond, Va.
Friends wishing to do so may send memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. The family will announce a memorial service to be held at a later date. Twiford Colony Chapel of Manteo is in charge of local arrangements.
