Local police are asking public assistance in solving these cases:

Two men are being sought on numerous charges, most stemming from area robberies.

Ronnell Alexander Brothers, 19, is described as black, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 pounds. He usually wears his hair in a short dread lock style.

Ernest C. Blowe Jr., 30, is described as black, 6 feet tall and 160 pounds. He is known to frequent the Foundation Park area. NORFOLK

Just after midnight on Oct. 6, a security officer was making his rounds in the parking lot of Sentara Leigh Hospital in the 800 block of Kempsville Road.

As he drove to the rear of the building, he saw a brown leather duffle bag in the parking lot. When he opened the bag, he discovered a newborn baby, weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces.

The nursing staff at Sentara Leigh named the baby Matthew Leigh. The child is now in the care of Child Protective Services.

Investigators believe the bag the baby was found in possibly was purchased that day at a local Wal-Mart store.

On Oct. 21 about 3:50 p.m., a 67-year old woman got into her car in the parking lot of the Hardees restaurant in the 6000 block of Indian River Road near Level Green Boulevard.

A teenager walked to the driver's side window, pointed a pistol at the woman's head and took her purse.

The suspect is described as black, in his early teens, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 120 pounds with a thin build, short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black jacket with a teal splash of color on the left sleeve.

The purse was found 45 minutes later at the intersection of Goolagong Drive and Newcomb Drive. Money and credit cards were missing. PORTSMOUTH

On Oct. 11, about 1:30 p.m., a 67-year-old woman returned to her home in the 2800 block of Bagley Road and unexpectedly walked in on a burglar.

There was a brief struggle as the suspect tried to take the victim's purse. She was thrown to the floor and the burglar made off with her pocketbook and a bag which contained a VCR.

The suspect is described as black, in his 20s, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

The Gitgo Food Mart in the 1600 block of Rodman Ave. was robbed by three men on Oct. 22, shortly before midnight.

One of the suspects had a handgun and ordered a clerk to open the register and then lay on the floor.

Another suspect went behind the counter and took the money out of the register.

Before fleeing, the third suspecttook some lottery tickets off the counter.

All the suspects are described as black and in their late teens to early 20s, of medium heights and builds. All were wearing ski masks, blue jeans and light weight jackets. SUFFOLK

On Oct. 26, thieves entered Pipe Inc., in the 5000 block of Nansemond Parkway.

Some of the items taken were two Compaq computers, a Panasonic printer, a Murata fax machine, an AT&T answering machine, three AT&T telephones and a laser alignment model LB-2. HAMPTON

On Oct. 28 at 3:20 p.m., John Eric Robinson entered Home Quarters in the 2200 block of West Mercury Blvd.

Robinson stole a screwdriver set and fled.

A clerk pursued him to the parking lot where the suspect pulled out a handgun and threatened the clerk.

Robinson is charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

He is described as black, 22, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
