ACCOUNTING
Linda L. Willey was named an associate of the Norfolk firm of Strickland & Jones. She will practice in the area of taxation, auditing and general accounting services. She was formerly associated with Roberts & Speece in Norfolk.
ARCHITECTURE
William D. Almond was named president of the Virginia chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. He is an associate of Shriver and Holland Associates in Norfolk.
Stephen M. Ste. Marie was named an associate of the architectural and interior design firm of Cederquist Rodriguez Ripley Maddux, which has offices in Norfolk and Chesapeake. He was also promoted to the position of office production manager for the firm's Chesapeake office. Prior to joining the firm, he was with Hanbury Evans Newill Vlattas & Co., an architectural and interior design firm in Norfolk.
BANKING
Stephen G. Fields was named vice president, commercial loan officer of the Greenbrier office of the Bank of Hampton Roads. Prior to this, he was an examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond since 1989.
COMPUTERS
Robin Lord-Haas was named branch operations manager of Inacom Information Systems in Norfolk. She previously worked as a sales assistant and network administrator for The Whitlock Group/AmeriData in Norfolk and was a microcomputer support analyst for Metro Information Services in Virginia Beach.
Inacom is a full service supplier of computer hardware, software, training, maintenance, system integration and network design.
CONSTRUCTION
Bill Ganzenmuller was named manager of purchasing/estimating at Chesapeake Homes. He will also guide the continued growth for the company. Prior to this, he was a superintendent for the Chesapeake building company.
Douglas M. Amthor was promoted to vice president of Oyster Point Construction Co., a general contractor specializing in commercial and institutional building. He has been with the Newport News company for five years and most recently worked as estimator/project manager.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Edith Cohen has joined the DePaul Medical Group as the primary care practitioner at Diamond Springs Family Practice in Virginia Beach. She is board certified in internal medicine and was in private practice in Sterling, Va., before joining the DePaul Medical Group.
LAW
Michael R. Davis was named an associate of the Virginia Beach firm of Norris & St. Clair. He was formerly an associate with the firm of Croshaw, Beale, Hauser & Lewis in Virginia Beach and concentrates his practice in civil litigation.
TRAVEL
CI Travel/Cruise International have promoted four employees within the company's executive staff. Kevin McElroy was named senior vice president of travel operations at CI Travel. He was the former vice president of the agency. He began his career with the company in 1984 as assistant general manager.
Travis R. MacSwain was appointed senior vice president of sales at Cruise International. He was formerly vice president of sales and joined Cruise International in 1972.
Also, Mickey Hawks, the former manager of retail sales and operations, is now vice president of retail travel. She joined CI Travel in 1977. And Barbara O'Leary was promoted from special projects manager and director of public relations to vice president of public relations at CI Travel. O'Leary has been with the company since 1978.
Also, Katherine Mason was named assistant manager of CI's premier travel division and Internet services in Norfolk. She rejoins the travel agency after a three year absence.
And, Brenda Green has transferred from the Greenbrier Mall location of CI Travel to the Pembroke Mall office as branch manager. Debbie Schanzenbach replaces Green at the Greenbrier location.
MID-ATLANTIC
John K. Thurston was named senior vice president and director of the retail branch system for Scott & Stringfellow Inc. in Richmond. He will have overall responsibility for all of the firm's retail brokerage operations. He joins the brokerage firm after 15 years in branch, divisional and national sales management positions with Paine Webber, primarily in south Florida.
