Catherine Horton Rhodes Clemons, 78, of the 500 block of Lanier Crescent, died Nov. 12, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Clemons was a native of Nansemond County and was retired as co-owner of the Mini Mart on Route 13 and Copeland Road in Suffolk. She was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church in Suffolk.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore ``Ted'' Clemons; a sister, Elizabeth Jundt of Goose Creek, S.C.; three sisters-in-law, Florine R. Parker, Mrs. J. Curtis Rhodes (Sugie) of Carrsville and Helen Horton Taylor of Suffolk; a nephew, Mills H. Hingerty of Goose Creek; two nieces, Hope Meadows of Gates, N.C., and Judy O'Neal of Suffolk; four stepchildren; five great-nieces; one great-nephew; and one great-great-nephew. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard F. and Susie Russell Horton, and two brothers, J. Flaherity Horton and Leonard Perry Horton.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Liberty Spring Christian Church by the Rev. T.A. Powell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, is handling arrangements. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight in the funeral home and other times at 3738 Burr Lane, Portsmouth.
