Vernon Cleveland Barrett, 84, of the 5900 block of Poplar Hall Drive, died Nov. 7, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Barrett was born in Norfolk County. He was a retired copy editor for various newspapers. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one son, Stephen Barrett of Chesapeake; one sister, Vera Lee Robinson of Lancaster, Pa.; one brother, John Carlton Barrett of Norfolk; and one grandson, Daniel Barrett of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood in Elmwood Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel in charge.
