Janie Knight Ozmore, 75, of the 1500 block of Walnut Drive, a homemaker, died Nov. 12, 1995, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.
Mrs. Ozmore was born in Northampton County, N.C., and was formerly of Winton, N.C. She was the widow of Everett Buxton Knight Sr. and Raymond E. Ozmore. She was a member of Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church in Chester, John Randolph Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and Chester Woman's Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Frances Asbell of Ahoskie, N.C., Julia Ann Burkett of Aulander, N.C., and Mary Lois Linkous of Smithfield, Va.; a son, E.B. Knight of Franklin, Va.; a stepson, Gilbert Ozmore of Colonial Heights, Va.; a sister, Gladys Hollowell of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Thurman Johnson of Woodland, N.C., and Milton Johnson of Wilmington, N.C.; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Donald Clinton. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burkett, Route 1, Aulander, and will assemble at the funeral home at 2 p.m Tuesday.
