LILA S. INMAN

Lila S. Inman, 74, of the 1600 block of Seaboard Ave., a retired schoolteacher, died Nov. 12, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Inman was born in Hertford, N.C., and retired in 1983 from the Chesapeake public school system, where she served as a teacher at Rena B. Wright Elementary School for over 23 years. She was very active in Chesapeake Parks and Recreation and served on the advisory board for a number of years. She was also a very active member of Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church and will be missed by many.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Grayson Inman Sr.; four sons, Thomas G. Inman Jr., Byon G. Inman and Robert S. Inman, all of Chesapeake and James H. Inman of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Elizabeth F. Britt of Hertford, N.C. and Ona Mary Jones of Franklin, Va.; a brother, Craton Stephens of Garner, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Andrews. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and other times at 425 Supplejack Court (Riverwalk), Chesapeake.
