FOUR DIE IN N. CAROLINA ROAD ACCIDENTS

Four people died on North Carolina roads this weekend, the state Highway Patrol said Sunday.

Antonio Keith Bumpass, 25, of Oxford was killed Sunday afternoon on U.S. 501 in Person County when he drove across the center line and struck another vehicle head on, the patrol said.

Albert Lee Coleman, 70, of Warrington died Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his vehicle on N.C. 58 and struck a tree. The accident happened about a mile north of Centerville, the patrol said.

Anthony Errol Wilson, 33, of New Bern was killed Saturday afternoon when he ran off of U.S. 70 in Johnston County, overturned and hit two brick pillars at the entrance of a private driveway near Princeton.

Keith Eric Chestnut, 12, of Harrells died early Saturday morning when a vehicle he was in ran off of State Road 1007 in Sampson County and struck a tree, the patrol said.

The death toll so far this year was at 1,205, compared to 1,255 at this time last year, the patrol said.
