JAMES SUTHERLAND SR.

James Joseph ``Jimmy'' Sutherland Sr., 47, of the 600 block of Saddlehorn Drive, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, in Chesapeake.

Mr. Sutherland was born in old Norfolk County and was the son of the late Martha and John Proctor Hooker Sutherland. He was employed at the Norfolk Plant of The Ford Motor Company as a tool and dye maker and was also with the Maintenance Department.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Sue Kilgore Sutherland; his two daughters, Laura Jean Davis and Deborah Ann Hite, all of Chesapeake; his two sons, James Joseph Sutherland Jr., also of Chesapeake and Cpl. Benjamin Allen Sutherland, U.S.A., stationed in Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, John Sutherland of Virginia Beach and two grandchildren, Logan Storm Sutherland and Trevor John Davis.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Ernie Myers. Interment will be private in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and immediately following the service Thursday.
