MARY R. COLLINS

Mary Roberson Collins, 77, formerly of Henderson, N.C., died Nov. 12, 1995, in a local hospital.

She was a retired photostat blue print operator for the civil service. She was a native of Henderson, N.C., and was almost a 40 year member of Elizabeth Chapter (NU)45, Order of the Eastern Star, and member of the American Business Women's Association. She was active with the Old Dominion University Archeology Groups and she volunteered with various political organizations in Norfolk.

She is survived by two daughters, Mollie Constance Roberson, formerly of Charlotte, N.C., Sylvia Grace Collins, also known as Kit Collins, or Kit Treewoods, of Portsmouth. She was the daughter of the late J.J. Roberson and Ethel P. Hicks Roberson. She is also survived by her extended family, Donna, Christ, and Matthew Kile of Portsmouth. Being one of nine children, her brothers and sisters are, Dorothy Roberson, Eva Hoyle, Mabel Davis, Ruth Wortham, Norman Roberson, John Roberson, J.P. Roberson, and Kermit Roberson, all of Henderson, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be private. The family will meet Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at 319 Dinwiddie St., Portsmouth.
