JAMES A. HARCUM

James Abram Harcum, 78, of the 5600 block of Greenwood Road, died Nov. 14, 1995, in Obici Hospital.

He was a retired farmer and a native of Nansemond County. He was a member of Holy Neck Christian Church and was an honorary member of the Holland Hunt Club.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Wright Harcum; son, Jerry A. Harcum of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Julie H. Masters of Suffolk, Lisa H. Branchaud of Virginia Beach, Renee M. Harcum of Atlanta and Jim Harcum of Suffolk; and seven great-grandchildren, Heather L. Harcum of Suffolk, Holly M. Harcum of Suffolk, Logan M. Masters of Suffolk, Kristin B. Branchaud of Suffolk, Ryan C. Chavis of Virginia Beach, Justin A. Chavis of Virginia Beach, and Jason T. Chavis of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Ed Sunday-Winters in Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the home of Jerry Harcum, 8504 Southwestern Blvd., Suffolk. Memorials may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
