Anna Gottbert, 88, of the 400 block of Smith Lane, died Nov. 14, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mrs. Gottbert, the widow of Max W. Gottbert, was a baker from 1957 to 1971 at the Pine Tree Inn and Tandoms Restaurant, Virginia Beach. She was a native of Beuthen, Germany, and a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Virginia Beach. Mrs. Gottbert assisted her son in delivering newspapers for the Ledger-Star for 22 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Ingeborg Holloway and her husband, Ellis G. Holloway, of Virginia Beach, Ruth Briese of Jaraqua Dosul, Brazil; one son, Hens Gottbert of Virginia Beach; one half-sister, Rosa Jendroseek of Herford, Germany; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and also numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church by Father Howard Johnson. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be at the church from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Following the funeral, family and friends are invited to the home of the daughter, Ingeborg Holloway, at 1549 Hidden Cove, Baycliff, Virginia Beach. Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, in charge.
