A flounder fisherman whose boat turned up without him was still missing Tuesday night.
The waterman's son and his friends spent the day looking for Neil Cordeiro, estimated to be 55 to 60 years old.
Fishermen plan to continue dragging the area around Roanoke Sound today.
Cordeiro went fishing alone Sunday afternoon. At daybreak Monday, another flounder fisherman found Cordeiro's abandoned 17-foot boat aground in the marsh at John's Ditch, near Wanchese. The motor was still in gear; the key was in it; the fisherman's hat and gloves were on board; nets and an anchor were stacked inside the boat; and about 150 pounds of flounder were stored in the fish boxes.
But there was no other sign of the fisherman.
Cordiero has lived on the Outer Banks for about a year, after moving to the area from Florida.
