Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport announced Tuesday that 15.5 percent more passengers used the airport in October than in the same month last year. The airport commission said 37,639 passenger flew through the airport on USAir Express, United Express and ValuJet last month. So far this year passenger traffic through the airport has risen 3.5 percent to 290,177. Commission Chairman David Mercer attributes the growth to ValuJet, which started flying from the airport earlier this year, and increased traffic on USAir Express. (Staff) by CNB
