Winter coats collected through the annual Coats for Kids drive will be distributed at four sites in Hampton Roads on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Now in its eighth year, Coats for Kids solicits donations of winter coats for distribution to needy children throughout Southeastern Virginia. Coats are distributed on two Saturdays in November. The first distribution was Nov. 4. Coats will be given out at the following locations:
Hampton - Hampton Ecumenical Lodging Provisions (HELP) House located at 3006 Victoria Blvd.; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Newport News - YWCA at 2702 Orcutt Ave.; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Norfolk - Lewis Hall, the EVMS classroom building at 700 Olney Road in the medical complex, downtown Norfolk; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Portsmouth - YMCA at 1013 Effingham St.; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Coats for Kids is a project of the EVMS student club Christian Medical and Dental Society and WAVY-TV 10. Other major sponsors are Albano Cleaners and Boulevard Cleaners, who clean the garments at no charge. by CNB
