GETTING PETS TO VETS

Doctors, nurses and therapists say that the handicapped and the elderly should have a pet; it is great therapy. I agree. I live in a place where you can have a pet.

But if you don't have transportation, that is a problem when your pet gets sick and no one wants to take you to the veterinarian. Tidewater Regional Transit-Handi-Ride had been taking me to the vet but now says it doesn't take the handicapped or elderly people with pets anymore.

I can't understand if they can take people shopping and to social events, why they can't take a pet to the vet. We don't want a joy ride; we are just trying to take the pet to the doctor. If I was sick, would they do me the same?

My pet is always in a pet carrier and cannot harm anyone. It does not make as much noise as some of the riders do.
