Mrs. Ina Allen Harris, 86, of the Pike Road Community, Route 1, died in the Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995.
Mrs. Harris was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 24, 1909, the daughter of the late Lonnie Frank and Laura Mae Clayton Allen. She was married to Horace Hilton ``H.H.'' Harris on Sept. 29, 1934, who survives. She was a member of the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church and was a former member of the Columbia Home Demonstration Club.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Jacqueline Harris Wells and Jane Harris Gibbs, both of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Laura Wells Hodges, Gregory Wayland Gibbs, Reginald Hilton Gibbs and Williams Frank Wells II; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Lauren Hodges and Amanda Nicole Hodges; and a brother, Lewis Fairfield Allen, of Route 1, Pantego.
Funeral services will be held in Trinity Free Will Baptist Church on Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. N.D. Beaman. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be James Paul Allen, Elwood Anlington Allen, Harold Cleveland Allen, Ronald Glenn Boyd, Paul Lynn Boyd and Lewis William Allen. The family will receive friends at the home on Pike Road. The body will be taken from Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven to the church two hours prior to the service.
