Fred Blount III was convicted in federal court earlier this week
on charges stemming from a shootout with an off-duty police officer
at a Pizza Hut. Blount pointed his gun at the officer, but he did
not fire. The officer shot Blount in the arm. A story and headline
Wednesday erroneously said Blount shot the officer.
``Die Fledermaus'' will be presented by Virginia Opera at 8
tonight; at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 26; at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday;
and 8 p.m. Nov. 24. A story about the opera in Thursday's Daily
Break had a wrong month for two of the performance dates.
Cmdr. Paul F. Zukunft is commanding officer of the Harriet Lane,
a Portsmouth-based Coast Guard cutter. His name was misspelled in a
Military News story Wednesday about the ship.
An item in Thursday's Compass on the Technology in Education
Conference today and Saturday at Ruffner Middle School in Norfolk
contained errors. Workshops will begin at 1 p.m. today and continue
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The awards ceremony is scheduled for
Saturday.
