MORE BANDS SOUGHT FOR PARADE

This year's Holiday Parade, to be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 2, is already bigger than ever with 65 to 70 units.

But it's still not big enough for coordinators.

``We're really kind of shopping for bands right now,'' said Paul Forehand, administrator-coordinator in the city's Leisure Services Department.

``You can't have too much music,'' he said.

So far, the Wilson and Churchland high school bands are signed up and Forehand's hoping that the Norcom High School band, which had a scheduling conflict, can join Portsmouth's parade.

Music also will be provided by smaller groups from the schools and from organizations such as the Arabia Shriner's Temple.

The parade down High Street from Washington Street to Crawford Parkway will be held in conjunction with the city's Winterfest and Illumination Ceremony.

Organizations or bands interested in participating in the parade should call Forehand at 393-8481. :wq! by CNB
