The City Council took the following actions at its public hearing Monday:

Westhaven Neighborhood: Rezoning application of the city for a comprehensive rezoning for Westhaven and Westhaven Park.

Airline Commercial and Industrial Corridor: Request of Hassell and Folkes, P.C., to rezone a portion of 3531 Airline Boulevard from light manufacturing M-1-R to commercial C-2.

Approved, 7-0

Simonsdale Neighborhood: Rezoning application of the city for a comprehensive rezoning within Simonsdale from residential RM-75 to residential RS-75 and RT-75.

Approved, 7-0

Cradock Neighborhood: Request of the Help and Emergency Response Shelter to modify conditions of a previously approved use permit to expand their playground area.

Approved, 7-0

Southside Neighborhood: Use permit application of Seventh Street Tire Inc. for a tire recycling operation at 706 Seventh St.

Denied, 7-0

Cavalier Manor Neighborhood: Use permit application of Mary Staton for a residential care facility at 104 Median Circle.

Code Amendment: A proposed amendment to Chapter 40 of the zoning ordinance to create an archaeological ordinance.

Comprehensive Plan Amendment: An amendment to the city's Comprehensive Plan Technical Report 1988 to revise statistical information, deferred from the Sept. 11 public hearing.
