Mattie Mae Marshall Batkin, 73, of the 5600 block of Woodgreen Road, died Nov. 16, 1995, in Bayside Health Care.
Mrs. Batkin, a native of Norfolk, had lived in Virginia Beach since 1966. She was a Baptist.
She was the beloved wife of 55 years to retired U.S. Navy Chief Warrant Officer Howard A. Batkin Sr. She is also survived by two sons, Howard A. Batkin Jr. of Portsmouth, Daniel J. Batkin Sr. of Norfolk; two sisters, Mildred M. Cunningham and Evelyn R. Wallace, both of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Paul D. Moore. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
