Nellie Cutler Flood, 77, of 600 3rd Ave., died Nov. 16, 1995, in Obici Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 25, 1917, and was a native of Southampton County. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe C. Faulkins; mother, Mary H. Faulkins; and her husband, James Flood. She was a retired nurse and a member of Mount Tabor Church, Newsoms, where she served on the missionary board. She was also a member of the Suffolk Senior Citizens Association.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Cutler Myrick of Portsmouth, Eunice Cutler Gourdine of Philadelphia; three sons, Dexter C. Cutler Jr. of Chesapeake, Henry J. Cutler of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Pastor Samuel L. Cutler of Hampton, Va.; beloved friend, Reuben Ricks of Suffolk; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Mount Tabor Baptist Church by the Rev. Roger S. Steele. Viewing will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday in Wyatt and Sons Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home for the procession to the church.
