Merian N. Dixon

BUXTON - Merian Nichols Dixon, 75, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995, in a Suffolk hospital.

Mr. Dixon, a native of Morehead City, was retired from the Ford Motor Company and after retirement owned a small engine repair business. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge of Suffolk and a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Buxton. Mr. Dixon was the son of the late Bertie Dixon Sr. and Eva Bragg Dixon.

Mr. Dixon is survived by one daughter, Brenda Shurger of New Orleans; sister, Lorena Hassell of Suffolk; and brother, Bertie Dixon Jr. of Frisco, N.C.

A church service was conducted Saturday, Nov. 18, 1995, at 2 p.m. in the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, Buxton, by the Rev. Shawn Mizelle. He was interned in the Quidley Cemetery, Buxton. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, N.C., was in charge of arrangements.
