JOSEPHINE BAILEY

Josephine Bailey, of the 5400 block of Tidewater Drive, died Nov. 18, 1995.

She was an employee at Oak Dale Furniture Company and a native of Farmville, Va. She was the widow of Arthur L. Bailey Sr. Mrs. Bailey was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, where she was involved in the usher board, D.Y. Campbell Club and the Senior Citizen Club. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star Margaret Frances (NU)101 where she was past matron.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur ``Beany'' Bailey Jr. of Fredericksburg and Curtis C. Bailey of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Grace E. Lee of Norfolk, Mary V. Hill of Emporia, Va.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Vernetta O. Bailey of Fredricksburg and Christine M. Bailey of St. Louis, Mo.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. G.G. Campbell in New Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The body will be in church at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
