John W. Bowman of the 900 block of Albert Ave., died Nov. 18, 1995.
Mr. Bowman was born in Franklin, Va., and was retired from North Carolina Mutual after 32 years. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and its Trustee Board.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Aekins of Norfolk and Theresa Byrd of Franklin; a brother, George W. Bowman of New York; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nephews and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olive Baptist Church, 2401 Ludlow St., Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. John R. Davis, Pastor. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The remains will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Family and friends will assemble at the home for the processional to the church at noon Wednesday.
