James Edward Smith, 69, died Oct. 1, 1995, in Orlando, Fla.
He was a native of Norfolk. He was predeceased by his sisters, Delphia Young and Ruth Woodruff.
Survivors include four nieces, Ollie Hill of Norfolk, Cleo Rolan and Frances Rolan of Chesapeake, and Joann Shaw of Cleveland, Ohio; four nephews, Charles Young of Chesapeake, Douglas Smith of Virginia Beach, Donald Smith of Suitland, Md., and Etheridge Smith of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
