CLARENCE JENNETTE

Clarence Baxter Jennette, 79, of Buxton, N.C., died Monday, Nov. 20, 1995, in an Elizabeth City hospital.

Mr. Jennette, a native of Buxton, was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after over 20 years of service. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God, the Hatteras Masonic Lodge (NU)698, York Rite Buddies of Elizabeth City, N.C., Sudan Temple of Newbern, N.C., and the VFW Post 10348. Mr. Jennette was the son of the late Baxter M. and Lula Midgett Jennette. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita P. Jennette.

Mr. Jennette is survived by his wife, Barbara Willis Jennette of the home; one daughter, Ruby J. Good of Elizabeth City, N.C.; two sons, Clarence B. Jennette Jr. of Beverly Hills, Fla., Wayland W. Jennette of Buxton, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Brenda C. Russell of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Donna Wright of Williamston, N.C.; two stepsons, Harold D. Carlin and Glen H. Carlin, both of Buxton, N.C.; one sister, Doris J. Stirling of Buxton, N.C.; one brother, Isaac Jennette of Buxton, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Lighthouse Assembly of God on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1995, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Shawn Mizelle and the Rev. Elmo Daniels. Burial with military rites will follow in the Jennette Family Cemetery in Buxton, N.C. The family will receive friends at Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras is in charge of arrangements.
