Perhaps it's time for the members of the Virginia Beach School Board to realize they're making fools of themselves and step down. It's bad enough that they overlooked the numerous transfers of funds from account to account; that they ``didn't notice'' that money allocated for middle-school teaching salaries was less that what was needed; that ``trust'' was placed above common sense when things didn't seem to be adding up with the budget. But they don't seem to have learned from their mistakes!
For the past few months, Dr. Pughsley has been handling the mess that Sid Faucette left - and doing a remarkable job. He seems to have the respect of teachers, administrators and people in the central office. Why then, is the School Board continuing to look for someone else to fill the position of superintendent? Seems as if they're throwing good money after bad. Hire the guy who's already doing the job - and doing it better than anyone has in a long time.
