MARION S. DAVIS

Marion Sykes Davis, 96, of the 3000 block of Lorraine Ave., died on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1995, in a Norfolk health care center.

She was born in Norfolk County, and was the daughter of the late Bettie Sykes and Willis Wesley Sykes, and was the widow of Walter Leon Davis. Mrs. Davis was retired from First United Methodist Church as their financial secretary, as well as being a member of the church for many years. She also was a member of the Elizabeth Chapter No. 45, Order of Eastern Star and the North American Benefit Association, Review No. 5.

She is survived by her daughter, Vera D. Alexie and her husband, Rev. Eric R. Alexie Sr. of Norfolk; sister, Vera S. Foster of Winston Salem, N.C.; grandson, Eric R. Alexie Jr. and his wife, Sharon; and a great-granddaughter, Morgan Brooks, all of Roanoke.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert A. Edwards. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at their home, 3010 Lorraine Ave., Norfolk. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 3031 Luxembourg Ave., Norfolk 23509. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
