MARY L. KELLER

Mary Lynn Gillespie Keller, 61, a resident of Oak Ridge Retirement Center, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 1995, in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

She had been a resident of the center for the past eight months, moving from Virginia Beach. Mrs. Keller was a frequent visitor to Oak Ridge before moving to the center.

Born in 1934, she was the daughter of Peery Brittain and Annie Lee Jackson Gillespie. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School in Virginia and James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. She was an accomplished musician, an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player. A frequent soloist in her church in Lebanon, she was also a member of the Virginia Beach Chorale for many years. She taught at Malibu Elementary School in Virginia until her retirement and enjoyed many years as a persian cat fancier.

Survivors include her brother, Oak Ridge physician, James T. Gillespie Sr., and his wife, Sara; her brother and his wife, Joseph P. and Betty Gillespie of Wytheville, Va.; and by two nephews and their families, James T. Gillespie Jr. and John M. Gillespie, all of Knoxville.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Nov. 19 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Glenn Chasteen presiding. The family requests that any memorials take the form of donations to the American Lung Association, 109 Northshore Dr., Knoxville, Tenn. 37919 or to the Methodist Hospital Foundation, 990 Oak Ridge Turnpike, P.O. Box 2529 Oak Ridge, Tenn. 37831.
