Glenn K. ``Axel'' Lawson, 81, died Nov. 20, 1995, in Maryview Hospital.
Mr. Lawson was retired from the Naval Air Station, Norfolk. He was a native of Portsmouth. He was a veteran SEABEES of the Korean War. He was the first of four brothers to Captain and make All-Tidewater on the Wilson High School Football Team during the 1930s.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Seale Lawson; daughter, Mrs. Helene Norris and John of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sons including, Glenn K. Lawson Jr. and Barbara of Scottsdale, Ariz., Gary Lawson and Ellen Lawson of Asheville, N.C., Robert Lawson and Charlotte of Virginia Beach, Michael Lawson and Beth Ann of Virginia Beach; stepsons, Dan Seale and Bailey of Portsmouth, David Seale and Bonnie of Chesapeake; sister, Kathryn Cain of Richmond, Va.; three brothers, John F. Lawson of Chesapeake, Thomas C. Lawson of Smithfield, George H. Lawson of Newport News; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by Walter C. Hunting. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home on Portsmouth Blvd. from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
