FLOYD E. JOHNSON JR.

Floyd Edward Johnson Jr., of the 1200 block of Ormer Road, died Nov. 20, 1995, in a local hospital.

He was a retired engineer of Digital Equipment Corporation where he worked for ten years. He was a native of Chesapeake and a member of Baptist Rock Church of Chesapeake where he served on the trustee board. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Dafney D. Johnson; two daughters, Felicia Alexander of Chesapeake and Andrea Williams of Newport News; three sons, Kelvin Jones and Clarence Williams, both of Chesapeake, and Korey Johnson of the U.S. Air Force, Keflavik, Iceland; mother, Mamie Johnson of Chesapeake; three sisters, Catherine Boone of Norfolk, Sharon Hinton of Virginia Beach, and Cynthia McEachin of Chesapeake; three brothers, Louis Johnson of Chesapeake, Charles Johnson of Norfolk and Nelson Johnson of Chesapeake; ten grandchildren; mother and father-in-law, Della and Joshua Grifin, both of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and a daughter-in-law, Tonja Williams of Newport News; a son-in-law, Anthony Alexander of Chesapeake; and a host of many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd E. Johnson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. James Smith in Baptist Rock Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends will be at 2336 Dunbarton Drive, Chesapeake. The procession to the church will leave from 1217 Ormer Road on Thursday at noon.
