Banks, savings and loans: Banks will be closed Thursday.

City offices: Virginia Beach and Suffolk city offices will be

closed Thursday. Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Norfolk offices will be

closed Thursday and Friday.

Courts: Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Suffolk courts will

be closed Thursday and Friday. Virginia Beach courts will close at

noon on Wednesday and reopen on Monday.

Garbage collection: Portsmouth will collect today; Suffolk will

collect Friday; Chesapeake will collect Saturday and Norfolk will

collect Monday. Virginia Beach will have normal collection on

Thursday, but Waste Management offices will be closed.

Recycling collection: There will be no collection Thursday by the

Southeastern Public Service Authority. Suffolk and Smithfield will

have collection on Friday; Chesapeake will have collection Saturday

and Norfolk will have collection Monday.

Postal service: There will be no regular mail delivery on

Thursday.

State offices: State offices will close at noon today and will

reopen on Monday. ABC stores will be closed Thursday only.

Tidewater Regional Transit: TRT will follow a Sunday schedule on

Thursday.
