A 32-year-old man charged with robbing a veterinary hospital was convicted Tuesday of several counts of armed robbery, abduction and firearms charges.
A jury recommended that Andrew A. Skeeter, of the 2600 block of High St., receive 94 years for robbing the Airline Boulevard Veterinary Hospital in April. He could have received three life sentences.
Skeeter entered the hospital with a gun and demanded money. He ordered two employees and a patron onto the floor and told them to give up their jewelry and cash. When Skeeter laid his gun down to take about $50 from the hospital cash drawer, a veterinarian grabbed the gun and subdued the gunman.
