Christian Ricketts Williams, 88, of the 5200 block of Cobble Hill Road, died Nov. 21, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a native of Portsmouth and was the widow of John M. Williams Sr. She was a retired PBX operator with Central Fidelity Bank with 40 years of service. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school there for many years. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Esther Chapter (NU)37, and Beazley Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce W. Johnson of Lady Lake, Fla.; a step-daughter, Rebecca Anne Lawson of Chesapeake; two sons, William ``Bill'' Stiles and Noah E. ``Mike'' Williams, both of Portsmouth; one step-son, John M. Williams Jr. of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Robert F. Cofield. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
