Police looking for the source of gunshots late Tuesday found a 41-year-old man dead on a city street after what may have been a fouled drug deal, investigators said.
Police identified the man as William H. Farris of the 500 block of Southgate Ave. He was found shot near Harrier Street and Richard Road.
Detectives are looking for a young black man who was seen talking to the victim just before the shooting. Police described the man as light-skinned, about 18, 5-foot-9 and about 190 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call 427-0000.
