Police have arrested a 20-year-old man and charged him with the murder of a Newport News resident early Tuesday evening.
Leroy Major Jr. of the 100 block of River Mews Road was arrested Wednesday morning by Newport News Police. Major was charged with murder and use of a firearm.
Ricky Debman, 21, of 520 Young's Mill Lane was found in the doorway of his residence with a gunshot wound at about 6:43 a.m. Debman and died later at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
