George Thompson Miles, 63, died Nov. 22, 1995, at his residence.
Mr. Miles was born in Massachusetts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and later retired from the FAA as an air traffic controller with 33 years of service. He was a member of the Air Traffic Assoc., and the co-founder of the Kitty Hawk Couriers Air Freight Company.
Survivors include Joan Williamson; Florence I. Miles; two sons, Capt. Stephen T. Miles and Craig G. Miles, both of Virginia Beach; one daughter, Laura M. Jones of Virginia Beach; one brother, Wayne C. Miles of Hyannis, Mass.; a niece, Andrea Akmenkalns of Petaluma, Calif.; and six grandchildren, Stephen T. Miles Jr., Michael C. Miles, Craig G. Miles Jr., David M. Miles, Katherine N. Jones and Michael A. Jones.
The service will be private. Internment will be in Truro, Nova Scotia. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
