William W. Hooper Sr., 86, of the 3400 block of Herbert St., died Nov. 22, 1995.
Mr. Hooper, a native of Manns Harbour, N.C., was retired from the Coast Guard with the Life Boat Branch after 28 years. He was a member of Virginia Beach Masonic Lodge (NU)274, A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Etheridge Hooper; one daughter, Joyce Evans of Suffolk; three sons, William W. Hooper Jr. and Ellery E. Hooper, both of Virginia Beach, and Mitchell H. Hooper of Lynchburg; one sister, Evelyn Midgett of Ft. Myers, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Bruce Tuttle. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the American Cancer Society. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
